Tourist in my Country

8/02/2016

I know I haven't posted anything for a while now. To be honest I've been quite busy with my internships that I barely have time for myself and when I do I'd rather spend it with my Friends and family. About two weeks ago I went on a weekendtrip to visit a friend I met last summer on my internship in Canada. I'm so glad we saw each other again after a long year. She took me to do some tourism to San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato and it was amazing. I realized I've made more tourism outside my country that sometimes I forget how wonderful my home country is.

I have to say it, I like better San Mike since the streets are so historical and you can walk anywhere; even though, there's not much to do I did get myself a flower crown and I did try the churros that are quite famous there, I literally had to wait on a queue almost an hour to get a table, but it was worth it.

Although it was only for the weekend it was enough to distract me from my daily life. I'm quite happy as an intern and I've learned a lot these months, but I truly needed a break. What I was quite excited to visit was the mummies of Guanajuato and I finally did it; however, when I was there I was quite disappointed with it to be honest, I was expecting so much more and it was only a small museum. But honestly, if you have the chance you have to go. To be honest if you come to Guanajuato I would recommend you to visit San Miguel de Allende, it's gorgeous and it was considered a "pueblo mágico" which is literally magical village in English, known by its natural beauty, cultural riches and historical relevance on 2002, but unfortunately removed in 2008.
Anyway, I truly enjoyed visiting this beautiful city and can't wait to be back. To be honest Mexicans usually think about visiting Europe when on holidays, but Mexico has so much to offer that we should consider it from time to time.
Challenge question!
Where did you go this summer?
